Rugby-Fun is a project created by Horten Rugbyklubb which aims at developing the numbers of junior age Rugby players in Horten and also provide fun ways to learn about personal values, a healthy diet and inclusion.

The journey so far has provided all of our junior players a generous membership package including balls, drinkbottles, beanies, T-Shirts, protective tops, mouthguards and headgear. 

The junior squads have benefitted through a scrum machine, tackle bags and tubes, balls, top line first aid kits and supplies and team training wear.

The club has set up a comprehensive kitchen-load of equipment to help the kids with preparation of healthy snacks and meals. Over the course of the project the club has officially acquired the clubhouse and looks to expand the use towards safe and healthy place for kids to come and relax, eat well and socialise.

The project has seen a huge development in Rugby volunteers in the community, the knowledge and participation has grown steadily even through the covid years. We have engaged with HOPP Horten to participate in activities for kids and been active at local schools - however more is to come: In 2017 we had 7 members under 19 years, in 2022 we had 66 and our target is 200!

Wider contributions the project is working on include providing lesson plans for our local teachers that enables kids at both primary (barneskoler) and middle (ungdomskoler) schools to have the knowledge and skills to play quality non-contact Tag &Touch Rugby within 6 weeks. The teacher becomes a certified activity leader in the sport of Rugby.
